Feeding Guide
- All birds require freely available fresh, clean water at all times. Birds fed on extruded diets will produce droppings of a different colour and texture to birds fed on seed.
- Non-Breeding Finches should be fed a diet consisting of 90% Finch and Budgie Crumbles, 5% seeds (millet sprays, seed heads etc), 5% Insects.
- Omnivorous finches require insect protein supplementation when breeding, for this purpose, Vetafarm Insectapro should be added to the diet before/during breeding and while young are being raised.
70% Finch and Budgie Crumbles, 20% Vetafarm Insectapro, 5% seeds (millet sprays, seed heads etc), 5% Insects. - Budgerigars should be fed a diet consisting of 90% Finch and Budgie Crumbles, 10% seeds (millet sprays, seed heads etc).
Average daily pellet requirements
- Finch (Zebra/Gouldian): Small finches approx. 15g bodyweight requires minimum 2g of Finch & budgie crumble per day.
- Budgerigar: Average Budgerigar approx. 40g bodyweight requires minimum 4g of Finch & budgie crumble per day.
